Spring is in the air and with the changing seasons comes all new music to dance your little hearts out to. Everyone loves a good dance track, and gays really love it when one of our own comes up with a juicy little number to get our pulses beating harder and faster. Head to your nearest (or last remaining) record store, open up iTunes, and download what is certainly going to be one of the sickest albums of 2017. Velo, a popular, extremely sexy, queer performer, has just dropped his debut album Sex.Money.Power on Lomlplex records and it is shaping up to be essential ear candy.

Velo has been a staple at pride festivals up and down the west coast and with his first album comes nine tracks and 33 minutes of delicious electro pop that will be making its way into clubs this summer. Released on March 1, Sex.Money.Power is packed with fun tracks to get you off the couch and dancing in your underwear.

“Killing It” (video and dance single) ft. James Majesty and RuPaul’s DragRace all-star Raven, the first release from Velo’s debut full length album, delivers a real club banger which seamlessly melds Trap elements with EDM to create a fresh and modern sound geared towards today’s youth culture. “Killin’ It” was written by Victor Cruz and produced and mixed by Wayne Numan (Lybra Records). The video was directed by Alex Berry who’s best known for his hit documentary, “Drag Becomes Him”.

The titles track, “Sex.Money.Power” is another Wayne Numan mix, is a trance track that is a throwback to some of VELO’s earlier work. The hip-hop infused first track, “Big Dick Daddy” is as catchy as it is racy. Tracks like the melancholy “This Time” and “I Was a Fool” add a little trip-hop feel to this upbeat album and provide a more ballad-like depth to the record. “Circumstance” the final Wayne Numan song: “You’ve Been Lying” round out the album as stand alone singles. And “Tell Me Why” is the break up, rise above song we all need in our lives: “It time to fly high, with all the stars in the sky, and leave this all behind”.

Certainly an up and coming artist, Velo is breaking the mold with his debut record Sex.Money.Power. A musical force to be reckoned with, check out break out star VELO’s new album in stores today! It is available for download on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and wherever popular music is sold.
