This martini takes a bit of preparation, but it’s worth the while.
Step 1 – Ginger Syrup:
- Fresh Ginger coarsely chopped
- Orange Slice
- ¾ cup Sugar
- ¾ cup Water
- Cinnamon Stick
- Pinch of each ground cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves
Place all ingredients into a small sauce pan. Bring to boil and let cook for 15 minutes. Strain into a container using a fine mesh strainer. Let syrup cool completely.
Step 2 – Sugar Cookie Rimmer:
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 gingerbread cookie
Grind together and pour onto small plate. On a separate plate, pour a small portion of the ginger syrup. Dip the martini glass into the ginger syrup, then into the sugar cookie rimmer mix. Set glass aside.
Step 3 – Martini:
- 1.5 oz vanilla vodka
- 1 oz ginger syrup
- 1 oz Kahlua
- 2 oz 2% milk
- 1 oz half-and-half
Pour all ingredients into martini shaker. Shake well. Pour into chilled martini glass rimmed with sugar cookie rimmer. Garnish with orange slice.
