Gay porn actor, Levi KarterMost guys don’t just decide one day they are going to start working in the gay porn industry. Usually it takes weeks, months, or even years for them to get to the point of even filling out an online application. Working in the world of adult entertainment is something that takes some serious consideration.

“I knew when I was watching porn I had more interest than the normal person would,” said gay porn actor, Levi Karter. “I never thought I would do porn. When I turned 18, I was stripping at the time and I enjoyed what I was doing. I was getting really good at it. I was go go dancing and I wanted to take the next step.”

At that time, Levi has began building a small following through dancing, social media, and online activities. He also has a friend who was working for Helix and Next Door Studios who he went to for advice and helped him get started.

“I chose Cockyboys because I thought they were the right fit,” Levi said, recalling why he chose which studio he wanted to work with. “They had the nicest people and it seemed to me like the right way to go.”

While working in adult entertainment was something that Levi had wanted to do for a long time, he quickly realized that it was impacting his personal life and he had to make some really tough choices.

“I was cheering at one of the colleges,” Levi explained, “You are representing the school. The road I was took doesn’t represent that, so I left the team behind. I don’t event talk to them anymore.”

While Levi said goodbye to the team, he still had to tell his mom, which isn’t something that is easy to do. In Levi’s case, he didn’t even have to tell her, she found out through a complicated string of people in his home community, who went one-by-one telling each other until the message was eventually told to his mom.

“She’s embarrassed,” said Levi. “She doesn’t want me in front of the camera. Anything I do now, not in front of the camera, she supports.”

Not all parents, friends or co-workers support the adult entertainment lifestyle. It’s a harsh reality. Fortunately for Levi he had a lot of friends who have supported him along the way.

“With anything there are good and bad things, but you know, sometimes I wish I was back in high school,” said Levi. “All my friends are in school. I don’t regret it all. I love sex. I love entertainment. The studio I’m with really captures and portrays two people, not as objects, but as art. I’m glad I get to express myself that way and not call it a career.”

While Levi continues to do work in front of the camera he wants to expand to other areas of the business.

“Jake Jaxson is giving me the opportunity to learn the tricks of the trade to transition to behind the camera,” said Levi, who is interested in shooting, producing and editing. “I”m still going to learn something that I can take away from this experience.”

Levi has been nominated for Best New Comer at the 2014 Cyber Socket Awards and will be performing at HustlaBall Las Vegas.
