Broadway Across Canada

The 2014-2015 Broadway Across Canada season is about to get underway, and the line-up is full of acclaimed shows offered on Broadway, brought to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in downtown Vancouver.

“This is undeniably one of our most anticipated seasons in recent years,” said Shana Levin, General Manager – Broadway Across Canada. “We’re thrilled to continue offering such amazing line-ups to our patrons, and the 2014-2015 Season is sure to exceed expectations. This series is packed with a mix of Tony Award®-winning shows, some of the most recognized musicals in recent years, and full of pop-culture references for any generation. Vancouverites will truly have the opportunity to plug into the best of Broadway with us this year!”

Broadway’s biggest blockbuster is returning to Vancouver for a month-long season special, Wicked, playing from May 28 – June 29. The story takes place in the Land of Oz, long before Dorothy arrives, and is a tale of two girls, both with green skin, who meet. One of the girls if smart, fiery and misunderstood, while the other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. The story tells the tale how they grow apart and become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda The Good.

Also coming is Flashdance – The Musical, playing November 11-16. Based on the hit pop culture phenomenon, the musical is electrifies dance to its core. The story tells the story of Alex Owns, a Pittsburgh steel mill welder by day and a dancer by night, who dreams of one day becoming a professional performer. The story winds through complications and romance hits musical heights and two dancers follow their dreams.

From April 7-12, 2015, The Book of Mormon, winner of nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The show comes from the creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Containing explicit language, the show has been called “the best musical of the century” by The New York Times.

Season tickets for the 2014-2015 Broadway Across Canada performances are available now for renewing subscribers and will be on sale to the general public February 3 at 10:00am. Season subscribers receive priority tickets to all shows, prime seating locations, no fee ticket exchanges, free ticket replacement and membership to the BAC network (restrictions apply – for full details visit the BAC website).
