Christmas, of course, happens in the middle of the snowiest time of the year. It lends itself to gorgeous photography, cuddly nights on the couch, and—unfortunately—the need for extra care to drive safely.
A few tips to get you hope safely: first, if you’ve been drinking, and you would be a little nervous about driving when the roads are good, don’t go out in the snow. Sleep where you are, call a cab, or arrange for a designated driver. It’s not worth risking your life, or someone else’s.
If you are going out in snowy weather, don’t rush. Plan extra time to get where you’re going, and don’t worry about being late if the road conditions turn out to be worse than you expect.
Keep an emergency kit in your car, in case you get stuck somewhere. If you’re going to have kids in your car, give them something to do; keeping them calm will help you keep your cool. Make sure to have blankets, in case you get stuck and need to wait for rescue, and keep warm until it arrives.
Then, when you get home—or when you realize that leaving in the first place is just not worth it, enjoy a comforting Holiday Blizzard cocktail, spiced with fruity orange and mellow vanilla flavors. Top with whipped cream and fresh orange for a extra delight.
- ¾ oz Stoli Vanil Vodka
- ½ oz Stoli Ohranj Vodka
- Homemade Hot Cocoa
- Whipped Cream
Prepare homemade hot cocoa. Add liquors and top with whipped cream. Garnish with fresh grated orange shavings.
