The Urban Farmer cocktail, inspired by  Grain Tasting Bar  in Vancouver, BCSpring can’t come fast enough. Thankfully there are hot houses that grow fresh produce year round and is readily available, which makes creating hand-crafted cocktails fun any time of the year.

While we wait for spring, the great folks at Grain Tasting Bar have come up with the Urban Farmer, a cocktail that infuses all kinds of fresh ingredients into a cocktail bursting with flavour.

If you love healthy living, and enjoy a fresh tasting cocktail, the Urban Farmer cocktail is definitely for you. It also makes for a great alternative to a Caesar or mimosa at a Sunday brunch, and has a more exciting wow factor!

  • 1 ½ oz Thyme infused gin
  • ¾ oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • ¾ oz Simple Syrup
  • 1 Large Fresh Basil Leaf
  • Pinch of Dried Oregano
  • ½ Roma Tomato, quartered

Muddle the basil, oregano, and tomato together in the bottom of a mixing glass. Add gin, lemon juice and simple syrup. Shake lightly with ice to combine. Pour into a Collins glass and top with soda water. Garnish with a slapped basil leaf.
