Casey Everett“I wouldn’t rule it out, but at the point that I’m at right now, it’s something I’m not interested in,” said gay porn actor, Casey Everett, when asked if he would ever do bareback porn. “I wouldn’t rule it out later on down the road. It’s a possibility.”

While the Ducati Model actor is still pretty new to the industry, having just over a dozen scenes in the can, he’s learned that being open and not discriminating against other models is important.

“Yes, I would do a scene with someone who is HIV positive,” Casey Everett said with confidence. “As long as condoms are used and there are no exchanges of bodily fluids. I wouldn’t not have a sexual experience with someone just because they are HIV positive.”

This is exactly the kind of thinking and role models the gay community needs. There simply aren’t enough people that understand safer sex, and that you can safely have sexual experiences with people of the opposite HIV status.

“I think there’s a slight stigma,” Casey Everett responded when asked if he felt there is stigma against models who shoot in bareback porn. “A lot of people look down on it. A lot of people say they would never shoot at those studios. Models have been shot down because they have done bareback before. People think it’s unsafe.”

Sure, there are risks associated with having bareback sex. It increases the risk of transmission of STI’s and HIV. However, with the increasing proven success, acceptance and use of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), know commonly by the popular brand name drug, Truvada, more and more models are turning to the anti-retroviral drug as an added layer of protection to reduce their risk of HIV infection. To be clear, PrEP is one of many tools that should be used in a safer-sex toolkit, and is not a substitute for condoms or safer-sex.

“PrEP is only as good as your memory,” said Casey Everett, who is open to the idea of HIV negative adult models to use PrEP to reduce their risk of HIV. “If you forget to take a pill daily, then it’s on you.”

Casey Everett also believes the role of the model, the agent and the studio, should to work together to ensure HIV negative models remain negative, but ultimately, it’s the models responsibility to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

“If you have someone who is HIV negative who is shooting bareback porn and the other model is HIV positive, then yes,” stated Casey, who reaffirmed his position that both the studio and the agent who also have direct responsibilities. “If you are going into bareback porn you are taking on all the risk. All three parties are taking on the risk. Everyone needs to share the responsibility to ensure the models stay healthy.”

This is exactly why agents and studios require models to get tested regularly and before each scene. It’s their job and responsibility to ensure models are safe. Ultimately it’s the models decision if they do the shoot.

Some studios choose only to shoot porn with condoms, like ChiChi LaRue, while other studios, like Falcon, allow their models to make their own decision, without pressure, to film with or without condoms.

Nice to see someone who has educated himself and is not afraid of doing a scene with a model who is hiv+ as long as it is safe.

I hear more stigmatizing directed towards guys who insist on condoms “condom nazis”, “uneducated”, “ignorant”, all different variations of “old fogey”, “uptight” and on and on. Your survey at the end is very leading. How about an option for “it’s the responsibility of the poz partner to not infect others” or “it’s the responsibility of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration)”
