Gay porn star Casey Everett gives a behind the scenes look at a day of shooting porn. Being a gay porn model isn’t exactly a typical nine-to-five job. There isn’t a school to go to, like you would if you wanted to be an accountant, plumber or red seal chef. The average person will watch porn on a regular basis, but has no idea of the work that goes into creating a scene.

Creating a scene is a huge production, including directors, cameramen, audio tech’s, clothing and make-up artists, agents, and the list goes on. Most of the people involved are behind the scenes.

There’s a misconception that a model just shows up on set and gets to have some of the best sex of their lives with extremely hot guys. It’s not that easy in most cases.

Casey Everett, a model for Ducati Models, has been in the gay porn industry since moving to San Diego last fall. He has over a dozen scenes filmed already and has learned a lot during his brief stint.

“I have a strict and very specific routine,” explains Casey Everett, describing what he does to prepare for a day of shooting a scene. “Typically we start shooting at 10:00am. I get up at 6:00am and do my proper cleaning routine and usually take a dose of Imodium.”

Gay porn models who bottom need to make sure they douche well and take every precaution to be ready for what can be up to an eight hour day on set, and the last thing they want to worry about it being in a messy, smelly or embarrassing situation. As professionals, if it does happen, everyone on set is mature enough to deal with it and it’s usually not a big deal; although it can be a bit of a temporary buzz-kill.

“I shower, shave, and then get dressed and ready,” continue Casey Everett. “We get picked up around 9:00am. We do all the paperwork before we start.”

The paperwork includes getting a rapid HIV test for HIV negative models, model release waivers, along with contracts documenting the amount of pay for the model.

“We knock everything out and then at 10:00am we start working,” explained Casey Everett. “We always do still shots first. They go through each scene, step by step. You do all the shots by yourself, and then with the other model. Then we put our clothes back on and start all over again.”

The still shots are used for promotion on the studio website, box shots, social media, and advertisements. They are key for promoting the scene. In some occasions the still shots are done after the scene has been shot.

“After the scene is shot I eat,” grinned Casey Everett. “I don’t eat the entire time on set. I stop eating at 11pm the night before. I might have an orange juice, and that’s about it.”

The next time you’re watching porn, think about all the work the model and all the people behind the scenes put into it, just so you can have some enjoyable entertainment.
