There’s nothing like walking into a performance theatre with the anticipation on seeing your favourite musical. You get goose bumps just thinking about the show’s big number, the dancers floating across stage in their elaborate costumes against towering stage designs and creative lighting, while the orchestra pounds out the music in time. It’s exciting. It’s fun. It’s Broadway Across Canada!

For years, professional actors, dancers and singers have been touring across Canada, bringing the biggest and best musicals from Broadway. In Vancouver, Broadway Across Canada makes the Queen Elizabeth Theatre its home. For those that love the excitement and energy of Broadway musicals, you’ll want to get in line now for season tickets for the 2015-2016 season, especially with the line-up of shows scheduled to come.

Disney’s The Lion King: June 18 – July 12, 2015

More than 70 million people around the world have experienced Disney’s The Lion King. Its won six Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The story, set in Africa, brings together a story of love and adventure set against stunning backdrops and visuals. The show features the music by Tony Award winning artists, Elton John and Tim Rice.

Once: November 17-22, 2015

Winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Once is an original Broadway experience. The actors and musicians play their own instruments on stage, while telling the tale of a Dublin Street musician who’s about to give up on his dream when a beautiful woman takes sudden interesting in his love songs. The music soars as the chemistry grows between the two characters, becoming deeper and more complex as the story unfolds. It’s an unforgettable story about reaching for your dreams and the power of music to connect us all.

Dirty Dancing: January 12-17, 2016

Heart-pounding music. Passionate romance. Sensational dancing. Dirty Dancing has been seen across the globe by millions. The story of Baby and Johnny, two fiercely independent young spirits from different backgrounds come together in what becomes the most challenging and thrilling summer of their lives. The musical features the hit songs, Hungry Eyes, Hey Baby, Do You Love Me?, and (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.

Mamma Mia!: March 29-April 3, 2016 (season option)

Whether it’s your first time seeing the show, or your seventeenth, Mamma Mia! Is the ultimate feel good show that have audiences coming back again and again. This fabulous musical combines ABBA’s greatest hits, including Dancing Queen, S.O.S., Super Trouper, Take A Chance On Me, and The Winner Takes It All, with the take of love, laughter and friendship.
