She’s one of the hottest pop / R&B / dance singers on the charts. In fact, she has the most top 10 singles of any artist in 2014. And while she’s been focused on promoting her latest album, My Everything, on a North America and Europe tour titled The Honeymoon Tour, Ariana Grande has just been announced to perform at one of the biggest pride events in North America, the New York Pride Dance on the Pier.
The 29th annual Dance on the Pier is New York Pride’s largest fundraising event. The event benefits numerous LGBT not-for-profit organizations in the New York metro area. The event is held on Pier 26 along Hudson River Park in Tribeca. The event starts at 3:00pm. In addition to the much anticipated performance by Ariana Grande, the event will close out with the world’s longest running LGBT firework display.
Ariana Grande’s career begin in 2011, when the soundtrack, Music from Victorious, was released, which was a spin-off of teen music from the Nickelodeon tv show, Victorious, she has played on previously. She released her first full length studio album in 2013, Yours Truly, which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200. She is best known for her hit songs, Love Me Harder, Bang Bang, Problem, and Break Free.
In her short career, Ariana Grande has risen quickly, raking in awards including New Artist of the Year at the 2013 American Music Awards, Music Business Association’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year, “Best Pop Video” at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, “Best Song” and “Best Female” at the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards, and two Grammy Award nominations for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Grande joins a long list of amazing performers who have graced the Dance on the Pier stage over the years including Whitney Houston, Cher, Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Deborah Cox, Jennifer Hudson and Demi Lovato.
