Celebrating five phenomenal years in North America, Matinee will be hosting an incredible weekend in the Big Apple June 26-28, during New York Pride. There are four major events planned, each one being unique and over-the-top!
“There is no better time to experience the magic of Matinée than during Pride when we bring the world’s biggest party brand to the greatest city on earth,” says Jake Resnicow, Managing Partner of Matinée North America. “This will be our biggest year yet as we celebrate five phenomenal years.”
The weekend kicks off with the Friday Matinee Main Party at the Capitale, one of New York’s more impressive, state-of-the-art and historic arenas. Organizers are flying in staging and other elements, direct from Spain. What’s more, is that for the first time at any gay pride event in the world, attendees will experience the same Pixmob technology that wowed the crowds at the Super Bowl halftime show and the Olympic opening ceremonies. The event will feature international superstar DJ’s including DJ Borris, who is incredibly well known for his 12-hour marathon sets of house music. Joining him is Lydia Sanz and Rico Alexis, who will be kicking off the night.

On Saturday afternoon the best party to be at is the Saturday Circuit Festival Rooftop Party in the heart of Hells Kitchen. One of the most exclusive rooftops in the neighbourhood will be transformed with a custom light and sound installation. DJ’s Tom Stephan, The O’Halley Brothers, Serving Ovahness, Dawson, and others yet to be announced, will keep the party hopping all afternoon and into the evening. There will be an open bar from 2:00pm – 3:00pm, plus the world’s only 360’ movie booth, like the one see on the red carpet at the Grammys and the Oscars.
If you didn’t get enough, there’s Action Afterhours starting at 5:00am at Mach 8, New Yorks hottest late-night venue, renowned for it’s award-winning sound system. Resident DJ Billy Lace will headline, alongside DJ’s Hannah and SDOT.
The weekend wraps up with an incredible VIP boat cruise. Boarding at 7:30pm, and setting sail at 8:00pm, partygoers will sail off into the sunset passing the Statue of Liberty and the New York City skyline, dancing to the beats of DJs Tony Moran and Theresa. Before the ship returns at 11:00pm, there will be a very special and explosive surprise!
Tickets for Matinee New York pride events start at just $99.
