Every gay man who gives a fuck has renewed his gym membership, is paying attention to every carb, vegetable and ounce of protein, and is shopping like crazy for the perfect summer wardrobe. The goal: to have a the best summer body of your life! But then hopes and dreams get dashed when a photo of a porn actor splashes across his Facebook feed, and he begins to wonder, how do they do it?

There is an expectation that most gay porn actors have perfectly sculpted bodies. For most of these guys, it takes years of dedication. It doesn’t happen over night. Gay porn actor, Theo Ford, knows first hand.

“Working out is the main thing for my job, I need to stay fit,” said Theo Ford. “I don’t inject steroids or do any drugs to get bigger muscles. I don’t have the most incredible body, but it’s my own body and I work on it every day. I go to the gym every day.”

Keeping up with the gym and working out can be incredible hard for porn actors because of their aggressive travel schedule to get to each of their shoots. Higher profile porn actors, like Theo Ford, are constantly in different cities, states, and countries each week. It is hard for them to maintain a regular gym routine. They know they have to get to the gym as much and as often as they can, no matter how tired they are, and no matter where in the world they are.

“Healthy eating is important,” adds Theo Ford. “What you eat is more important than working out. I like to eat and drink. I eat a lot of protein and vegetables, nothing deep-fried. If you can cut the sugar and fatty foods, you’re halfway there.”

When it comes to maintaining a healthy body, 70% of it comes from diet and only 30% from working out.

You begin to wonder, how is it that porn actors, like Theo Ford, who are frequently at night clubs and events, and are able to drink as much as they want and not gain weight, yet when you do it, you put on five pounds.

“It’s the mixes, the juices and the Coke you put in,” said Theo Ford. “I try to keep it very simple. Vodka and pineapple or orange juice. Sometimes I have a Red Bull and vodka. It really is the mixers.”

Also be careful around drinks like beer, which is high in carbs, or rum, whisky, and bourbon, which are high in sugar. Sticking to spirits like vodka and gin are a good start. Using club soda as a mixer is a great way to get a zero calorie mix, and still add the bubbles. Adding some fresh squeezed lime, lemon or orange juice will give it a refreshing taste too.

Theo Ford’s favourite cocktail is a Bloody Mary. “I believe that tomato is food for the body, and vodka is food for the mind,” said Theo Ford.

You can’t change the look of your body overnight and there’s no special pill you can take to melt the fat away and make you have incredible muscles. You need to be focused, committed and dedicated. You can do this!
