It was an incredible weekend of fun in Sin City as tens of thousands of hot gay men from across the United States and Canada congregated at Matinee Las Vegas. Celebrating their fifth anniversary, event organizers hosted eight amazing events over four days.
The weekend kicked off with a brand new event, Klubberdome, with DJ Grind and Kidd Madonny pumping hot tracked throughout Share Nightclub. The party moved outside for what was an epic performance by Jessica Sutta, one of the original Pussy Cat Dolls who is rising the charts on a solo career that is on fire!
Saturday started off with Heat, a pool party hosted at The Rumor. The event started off pretty chill as people were still settling in for day-after-day of fun. But as the liquor started to flow, and the day wore on, the temperatures rose and the party got hotter. Tank tops were cast aside and speedos and skimpy swimwear made their appearances.
Soon, shuttled whisked people from the pool party over to Cowabunga Bay, for another new event for 2015, Waterpark. Hector Fonseca cranked the decks with music can pounded throughout the park. There were multiple live performances and hot dancers throughout the evening as people lounged in the deck chairs and went zipping down the slides. America’s newest waterpark has officially be christened by the gays!
In true circuit party fashion, more shuttle busses arrived to pick everyone up from the water park and take them to Vanity Nightclub for Circuit Afterparty. The massive venue was oozing with pent-up sexual energy as a dozen hot men danced in leather harness gear under a rooftop of flowing LED lights. The large outdoor patio was an amazing oasis to escape for fresh air and quieter time.
Sunday morning everyone returned to The Rumer for the Pump! pool party. This was the pool party where everyone showed up in their elaborate, colourful and sexy pool party attire. Inhibitions were left at the door as circuit sisters reunited, new friendships were being formed, and new weekend-long boyfriends found their ways to the balconies to fuck where everyone could see. Many of the rooms along the courtyard were open with pop-up shops selling fantastic clothing. The energy was electric with anticipation of the evening’s main event, La Leche.
Following the Sunday afternoon pool party was a short break, just enough time for a disco nap, dinner, and wardrobe overhaul. The main even, La Leche, was the moment everyone had been waiting for. Hosted at Rain Nightclub in the Palms Hotel, the multi-level venue gave plenty of viewing options for the shows and performances throughout the night. The most talked about event of the night was the giant tubs of milk on stage where performers dosed themselves with the milky water (La Leche is Spanish for milk, hence the theme). Deborah Cox, the queen of gay circuit parties and pride festivals also put on a fantastic show. DJ Isaac Escalante kept the dance floor alive with hot beats throughout the night.
In true circuit party fashion, the party continued from 5-11am at Share Nightclub, as revelers danced long into the morning with DJ Josh Whitaker laying down solid baselines.
Matinee Las Vegas is the first of three Matinee circuit party weekends held in the United States. Matinee New York, held June 26-28, the same time as NYC Pride, is also celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, and Matinee San Diego will be September 4-7.
If you’ve never has the chance to experience a Matinee event, it’s not for the faint at heart. You need to have high stamina, ability to function with minimal sleep, and enjoy an incredible party weekend with the most amazing people. Experience it once and you’ll be hooked!
