Protein-packed banana breadGetting more protein into your diet is important when you are trying to bulk up for summer. Eating a well balanced diet is key. Instead of cutting the carbs, replacing flour in banana bread with Muscle MLK protein powder will add extra protein into your diet and reduce the amount of overall carbs. You can go the extra mile by adding frozen blueberries too, which are great anti-oxidants. It’s a fantastic mid-morning snack or 30 mins before hitting the gym.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Muscle MLK chocolate protein powder
  • 1 cups flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 5 over-ripe, mashed bananas
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup currants

In a large mixing bowl, combine Muscle MLK protein powder, flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

In a separate medium mixing bowl, combine eggs, bananas, sugar, and butter.

Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until moistened. Add in the remaining ingredients.

Pour the batter into two greased loaf pans and bake for 50 minutes at 350’c. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes and then carefully remove them. Let cool completely on a wire rack. Wrap and store overnight before slicing.
