Four beefy candidates have just been named finalists in the Mr Ruff 2016 competition. From now until March 25, candidates are looking for your vote and donation to help them take home the title, along with sharing over $1,500 in cash prizes.
The Mr Ruff competition is in its third year and is the flagship position of the Mr Ruff events which run in Vancouver, Victoria, and Seattle. Each of the candidates were selected from all the nominees to complete in the finale, set to take place on Friday, March 25 at The Pint (455 Abbots Street, Vancouver), from 8:00pm – 10:00pm.
From now until the event, candidates will be encouraging their network of loyal followers to vote for them and to make donations in the charity challenge, with all proceeds going to the Vancouver Abbey of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. The winner will be selected based upon a weighted scorecard of dollars raised in the charity challenge, votes received from the public, and the Mr Ruff judging panel.
HomoCulture readers are encouraged to cast your vote and make a donation for the charity challenge. You can only vote for one candidate, but you are able to change your vote at any time until Friday, March 25 at 9:00pm.
The Mr Ruff competition is open to the public and tickets are available now, both online or at Topdrawers (809 Davie Street, Vancouver, B.C.), with a limited amount of early bird tickets at $10 until March 7, then going up to $15, and $20 at the door. The first 100 people to arrive for the competition will each receive a complimentary bottle of Labatt’s beer.
Following the Mr Ruff competition, the party continues until 3:00am with the Ruff 5 Year Anniversary celebration, featuring performances by the Mr Ruff 2016 candidates, Colin Mr Ruff 2015, and music by GingerBear Todd, Del Stamp, and Bret Law.
