The Marker Hotel, San Francisco: redefining boutique luxury

Boutique hotels are quickly becoming more popular choices with avid travellers because the offer more charm, character, and personality, compared to a stodgy corporate hotel. The Marker San Francisco is redefining what it means to be a luxury hotel in the boutique accommodation space.

Historic and vintage properties are not all that unique in the golden gate city. Many properties have been around for decades. But it’s how The Marker San Francisco has defined and set itself apart that makes it incredibly special.

Like most top quality corporate hotels, The Marker San Francisco greets guests with a full-service team of door men, front desk agents, and bellhops. Within minutes of arrival you’re headed to your room so you can spend your valuable time in the city, getting to every item on your busy agenda, not waiting around and hoping someone will come and help you.

While most corporate hotels stick to drab, conservative colour palettes, The Marker San Francisco pulls out all the design stops, using bold patterns, a variety of textiles, and takes advantage of the historic characteristics of the building.

The guest rooms are incredibly warm and welcoming. Because it is an older property the rooms are really large and spacious. Suites, for example, come with a living area, bedroom, and a massive bathroom. The living area has a work station area with a plethora of plug-ins, which are perfect for the tech-traveller. There are beautiful window seat bay windows, and a pullout couch, giving plenty of entertaining and sleeping arrangements.

The bedroom features a large, king size bed, highboy dresser, and night stands. While at first glance the bedroom is already spectacular, there is one super cool detail that will make your jaw hit the floor. At first, you’ll probably be frustrated that there aren’t extra bedside lamp plug-ins for your smartphone at night; however, when you get into bed you’ll notice that the plugins are built in to the side of the nightstands, which is absolutely brilliant! So seriously cool. Oh, plus there is complimentary WiFi!

A large, two-person jetted tub awaits in the spacious bathroom, along with a full vanity counter. Large, fluffy white towels, and premium toiletries give a complete, premium experience so you can pamper yourself during your stay. Most properties only give two, possibly three sets of towels; however, at The Marker San Francisco, you get four.
