Thousands of incredibly hot gay men invaded Sin City over the Memorial Day long weekend to attend Matinee Las Vegas 2016. Over the course of the weekend, nine signature events featured incredible music from some of the hottest DJ’s in the gay music scene. For those who attended, it was an epic non-stop weekend of sun and fun.
Part of the world’s largest gay music festival series, Matinee Las Vegas attracts thousands of gay men from across North America. From muscle-clad jocks to circuit kweens, Matinee events attract a wide-range of guys. The common denominators are their passion for music, openness, and fun.
The weekend kicked off on Friday night with Pervert, at the Hard Rock Hotel. Leather harnesses and hardedge costumes set the tone for the night, and the extra-long weekend ahead. DJ Dan Slater played awesome beats long into the night.
Saturday eased in with a casual, sexy, fun pool party at the Rumor Hotel. Australian mega DJ, Kitty Glitter, had the entire pool deck and courtyard thumping, bumping, and grinding with a fantastic mix of music all afternoon long. Muscle clad men soaked in the sun and frolicked in the pool, making it a sensational afternoon.
The main event Saturday was the Waterpark at Cowabunga Bay, one of the newest waterparks to open in the United States. Slides, rides, and the lazy river were where all the boys played. The new stage set-up made it easier for everyone to enjoy the music and amazing hot go-go dancers up close and comfortably.
Saturday night turned into the Sunday morning as party revelers went non-stop at Vanity nightclub at the Hard Rock Hotel for Circuit, a signature Matinee event. DJ Phil Romano’s characteristic line-up of hour-after-hour music was irresistible and kept the dance floor moving.
Sunday morning it was off to gay-church as the hardcore Matinee Las Vegas boys made their way poolside at the Rumor Hotel for Pump! Throughout the afternoon, near-perfect bodies bronzed poolside, enjoying the hot sun, libations, and music by DJ Dawson and DJ Herb.
Sunday night marked the most anticipated event of the entire weekend. LeLeche. Thousands of men packed into Rain Nightclub for the hottest and sexiest events of the night. The pinnacle moment came when the music of DJ Isaac Escalante perfectly synced with the special wristbands worn by partygoers, illuminating the room with bursts of flashing lights, while carefully choreographed colourful lasers burst from side-to-side. In addition there were incredible circus performances from the rooftop. It was night with moments of epic proportion that had everyone memorized and in awe.
With the Memorial Day long weekend in full-swing, the partied continued with another classic Matinee event, Signature at Body English at the Hard Rock Hotel. DJ Paulo, known for his late-night sets, had pleasure seekers in their glory well into the holiday Monday morning.
Sleep was the order of the mid-day on Monday, allowing festival goers-s the chance to take a break, recoup, refresh, refuel, and rehydrate, just in time to give their final push at the Sunset Tea Dance at the Rumor Hotel. Kicking off at 3pm, hardcore festival animals pulled out all the stops for what was an epic finale. The most over-the-top costumes, ridiculous outfits, and crazy attire was paraded until late into the night. This it the silliest of parties, but one of the best ones where everyone can just let loose, get crazy, and where no-holes are bared.
The organizers of Matinee events spend an incredible amount of time planning every detail. Lighting, staging, and sound are flawless. The process for pass and ticket pick-ups are professional, efficient, and process-oriented. The talent from go-go dances and DJ’s, to volunteers and bar staff is all fully trained to the highest quality and service level gay men expect at a premium event. What’s more is that they take every comment and concern incredibly seriously, and adjust future programming, to make their events even better. They are truly dedicated to delivering the absolute best experience and maximum value.
