Ok, that is not DJ Abel, or at least the one you want (or i think you want, judging from the other DJs) to be writing about. You have merged two biographies together, and used a picture that is not the DJ who spins Atlantis Cruises. Whoever put this piece together should have done more research. Thank you for spotlighting our field – but get it right if you’re going to do it! Thank you. Joe

Hey Joe, thanks for the note. Much appreciated. You’re right, we made a mistake in editing. We were too caught up listening to some awesome remixes and got it wrong. We’ve since updated it. Our sincerest apologies to DJ Abel!

Where is Isaac Escalante? C’mon!!! He slays the stage all the time! He plays fucking awesome.

  3. Jeremy James

Not to take anything away from the names that were listed but no Barry Harris or Alyson Calagna.? I can’t imagine a top 10 gay Dj list that doesn’t include these names. Alison’s skill set in during live performances ranks her as one of the best. Barry Harriss is one man, billboard hit making machine.

I go to all the main circuit parties all over and a music freak. I would have been a DJ if it was not for my profession. While you got some of them right there are definitely key DJ’s that are missing form the top 10 list. Some on this list I can’t judge because i never heard of them but now i will go check them out! Now, missing from the top 10 and this one i can’t comprehend how in the world he’s not on here is “Isaac Escalante” who is a huge name and with hits like “Legendary” Excuse My Beauty” and others this DJ/producer is definitely top 10 material and very well respected. DJ Aron is really hot on the scene with to many dance hits to name but most recent the remake with singer Beth Saks of the classic hit “Whats going on”. Have you seen the Madrid WE pride party 2017 video on this? Ivan Gomez, Nacho Chapado, HUGE! With over 20 top hits that all djs play all over! ” Oscar Velazquez, Dani toro, Alex Acosta, DJ Suri, DJ Renato, Joe Gauthreaux, Cindel, Erez ben ishay… Also, Offer Nissim might be one of the biggest names but wouldn’t add him as top 10 for 2017. To me his last hit was “Everybody Needs A Man”. So I can go on and on lol but as a clubber/circuit party guy that knows the songs before they begin, dances his ass off and pays attentions to how the guys on the dance floor react to the DJs . Love Nina and Dani verde but Here are my top 10!
Now if you want to do a DJ up n coming list i can help. lol DJ HANSEL LEYVA, DJ HANNAH GONZALEZ, DJ PABLO LOPEZ, DJ PAULO FRAGOSO, JERAC and so on. cheers!

Wow! What kind of list completely snubs every Brazilian, Mexican, Spain and Israeli DJ? Of the hundreds of biggest circuit mixes I play in my sets, 5 of the above names did not even make the cut into my set list. The remaining 5 contributed to about 14 remixes. The rest are overwhelmingly by DJs from 4 countries i mentioned above and a couple of US DJs that got a royal boot. But then of course articles like this pit DJs against other DJs. While Brian Webb is either one of the promoters of Matinee or a friend of Matinee and he picked all Matinee DJs for most of the list, I do not begrudge it as I like all Matinee DJs and I am friends with them. But don’t pretend like this is some kind of an authoritative list by industry insiders. We are all good DJs and we are all unique in our own way. Don’t rank us. Thank you.

Whoa whoa whoa… where’s Danny Tenaglia? Pagano? Honey Dijon? Horse Meat Disco? There are way many others that should be on this list before some of the ones the writer’s chosen.
