It’s currently the hottest, trendiest place to eat in San Francisco and has quickly become the epicenter of the gayborhood. Finn Town Tavern is one of the best restaurants in the Castro, if not the entire city. Finn Town is a tavern with a twist that has recently been reinvented, perfect for the best meal experience in San Francisco for comfort food mixed with a hometown bar feel.
Established in 2016, Finn Town Tavern gets its name from what the Castro District used to be called in the 1800s, due to the high volume of Finnish Fisherman living in the area. After taking a year to find its niche, Finn Town Tavern is now a staple of the Castro and a must-eat experience in San Francisco. Now with their new brunch menu, it’s the hottest place to be on the weekends, and where all the gays go.
Finn Town Tavern is located at 2251 Market Street, between Sanchez and Noe, in the heart of the Castro. It is situated near several of the local gay bars and venues, and just mere feet away from the MUNI (Castro and Church stations) station and iconic vintage San Francisco street cars. Its interior is brightly decorated with San Francisco imagery pictured throughout the tavern. A full bar with an amazing wine selection makes it a modern-day, American-style tavern.
Finn Town Tavern has recently unveiled three new menus under the direction of chef Steve Dustin, including an all new happy hour menu, dinner menu, and brunch menu. Weekly, from 5-7pm Monday through Friday, there are delicious new twists like the Finn Town Deviled Eggs. With the dinner menu, try the oysters on half-shell, roasted half chicken, tuna confit, pork balls, and finish it all off with a Finn Market sundae for dessert. Brunch is now offered Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-3pm and features some favorites like the Finmosa, chicken and waffles, frittata, and Finn Town Burger.
The food is great. The service is exceptional. The location can’t be beat. And the prices are reasonable. For a fun, cool place to dine with awesome vibes in the heart of the Castro, make a reservation today, at Finn Town Tavern.
