Boozy Bacon Hot ChocolateBACON! Who doesn’t love bacon? Breakfast-time’s unofficial meat just got an adult beverage makeover everyone is sure to enjoy. Autumn means cooler temperatures all around, so winter warmers are essential – ranging from Hot Toddy’s to hot gin tea’s…all the way to new twists on classic staples like hot chocolate.

Boozy winter warmers, like the Boozy Bacon Hot Chocolate are great for any time of day, from breakfast to cold nights. Step up your brunch game with this delectable delicacy, as savory and sweet get combined to make the perfect fall cocktail. The Boozy Bacon Hot Chocolate combines two of our greatest loves ever: Chocolate and of course: BACON! 

What you’ll need:

  • 4 slices thick-cut bacon
  • ½ tsp cornstarch
  • ¼ c cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • pinch salt
  • 3 c milk
  • 4 oz milk chocolate chips
  • 4 oz bittersweet chocolate chips
  • 4 oz Frangelico
  • 4 oz Bourbon
  • Whipped cream

Cook bacon in a large pan on medium heat until crisp. Place cooked bacon on paper-towel lined plate. Pour bacon fat into a small bowl and whisk in cornstarch.

In a medium saucepan, stir cocoa, sugar, and salt. Add reserved bacon fat mixture, milk, milk chocolate chips, and bittersweet chocolate chips. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted completely.

Whisk in Frangelico and bourbon. Pour into individual cups. Top with whipped cream, toasted nuts, and a strip of bacon.
