Peak Pride 2018 at the Big White Ski Resort is just around the corner near Kelowna, British Columbia on April 6-8th and promises to be a weekend that is full of powder skiing, stellar events, exceptional performers, and fantastic DJs.

Big White Ski Resort is the ultimate winter vacation destination and the proud host of Peak Pride 2018. One of the largest ski-in/ski-out resorts in Canada, Big White is famous for its champagne powder snow. The resort boats an annual snowfall of over 750cm, 2,765 skiable acres, and 118 marked alpine runs. Accommodation ranges from standard hotel rooms to luxury vacation cabins. Other on-mountain activities include the largest snow tubing park in North America, snowmobile tours, sleigh rides, dog sleds, snowshoe tours, and ice skating on an Olympic size outdoor rink.
The festivities kick off on Friday, starting with an après ski at the Blarney Stone Irish Tavern, a special edition of the MX – a monthly LGBT networking event in Kelowna, where patrons can stop by and meet and greet all the other attendees there for the weekend. There is no cover and it’s a great way to get the weekend started in earnest. There will be a gaymes evening the same night over at Happy Valley promises to be another ice breaker that comes with laughs galore. On Saturday, Peak Pride really kicks into overdrive with Chase the Rainbow, a mountain challenge that is sure to be exciting. A lift pass is required to participate. A view from the top is advisable for the Mountain Pride Parade that will celebrate the LGBT+ community with a procession that is sure to be a fun time had by all.
Lovers of beer gardens can enjoy a number of domestic and international beers at The Woods in the heart of the Big White village. Laying down fierce tracks will be Brightside DJ, who is well known in the local community for spinning at FruitCake, the local monthly night club event in Kelowna. There is no cover and again, Weekend Pass holders are feted with a complimentary cocktail.
A new activity this year is the Pride Culinary Walk, which is the perfect way for attendees to stroll through the village and indulge in a delicious culinary experience courtesy of four local restaurants that are on hand to elevate your experience. There will be great dishes and specialty beverages. With limited tickets available, attendees should get passes early to participate.
The tradition at Peak Pride, WipeOUT is back with a new setup, later hours, and other surprises in store. Fetish gear, harnesses, and elaborate costumes that make a statement are highly recommended. Headling the night will be DJ Dopamine of Calgary, with performances by local queens Sparkle, Ginger Snapp (bearded queen) and Alexa Nerezza. On Sunday, the festivities wind down with brunch at the Blarney Stone Irish Tavern, where all the attendees can gather and say their goodbyes before the weekend comes to a close.
