Do you hear the people sing? That is the sound of the greatest musical ever written returning to Canada and North America for an encore engagement. With new staging and re-envisioned scenery and sets inspired by the original art of Victor Hugo, Les Misérables is back and better than ever with a glorious new tour.

Les Misérables is an engaging tale of love, revenge, passion, and redemption set in the back drop of post-revolutionary France. With one of the best and most recognizable scores ever written, Les Misérables features engaging songs: “On My Own,” “Bring Him Home,” “One Day More,” “I Dreamed A Dream,” “Stars,” “Empty Chairs at Empty Tables,” “Do You Hear the People Sing?” “Master of the House,” and many more. Now, one of the most celebrated musicals will tour Canada for a reprise.

This new production of Les Misérables was originally created in celebration of the 25th Anniversary in 2009.  Now in its 33nd year, Les Misérables is the world’s most recognized musical in history. 130 million people in 22 languages across 44 countries–including the Academy Award winning movie musical of the same name based on the show–have seen Les Misérables. Les Mis smashed box office records throughout its Broadway residency and subsequent tours. Les Mis also holds the record for 5th longest-running Broadway production ever.

This new tour of Les Misérables, again produced by Cameron Mackintosh, features original music by Claude-Michel Schönberg with lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer adapted from Alain Boubil Jean-Marc Natel’s original French text, based on the original Victor Hugo book. Les Misérables the musical features additional material by James Fenton and original adaptation by Trevor Nunn and John Caird.

Partof the Broadway Across Canada 18/19 Broadway Season, Les Mis will run in Edmonton July 3 – 8, 2018 at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, in Vancouver at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre July 10 – 15, and July 17 – 22, 2018 at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary.

Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg’s Tony Award-winning musical, LES MISÉRABLES, will go on sale Monday, May 7 at 10am for its highly anticipated Vancouver engagement at the Queen Elizabeth, at the Northern Jubilee in Edmonton, and the Southern Jubilee in Calgary.
