Food + Drink Cocktail of the Week Brian Webb

Watermelon Chillin’Pitcher drinks are perfect for summer backyard barbeques and summer outdoor parties. There is nothing like relaxing under the hot summer sun with a cold cocktail to cool you down. Mix up a delicious beverage in a big pitcher ready to serve to all your family and friends.

Watermelon goes hand in hand with summer fun. It’s delicious, refreshing, and great for sharing. The Watermelon Chillin’ brings out the best of everyone’s favorite summer fruit, with infused watermelon, blueberries, mint, and lime.

Watermelon Chillin’ is best made in large quantities like pool parties, barbeques, river/lake/beach trips, or just relaxing outdoors. Mix up a batch of Watermelon Chillin’, take a breather, and enjoy the heat (and cool refreshing drink) this July.

What you’ll need:

  • 8 cups diced seedless watermelon
  • ¼ simple syrup
  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 ¾ cups blueberries
  • ¾ cup lightly packed fresh mint leaves
  • 1 ¼ cups silver tequila

Puree the watermelon, and strain through fine-mesh strainer into a bowl. Discard pulp. In a large pitcher, muddle simple syrup with lime juice, blueberries and mint leaves. Add watermelon juice and tequila. Refrigerate until chilled. Serve in ice-filled glasses with a mint sprig garnish.

Enjoy and drink responsibly.
