We’re super excited about Ariana Grande’s new album, but there’s a thing that we’ve been looking forward to even more. Summer’s already here and luckily you have your gaycation just around the corner. But now it’s time for that daunting part of the experience – the packing. Well, not actually packing per se (as it’s not that boring once you get into it), but it’s the planning of the packing process that probably gets on your nerves. Fear not my dear, as we have listed the most important things that you should pack for any gaycation. So, no more thinking – just go through the article and may it serve as your checklist:

5 ways get your body ready for a summer gaycation

The essentials

Before heading off to any vacation, make sure that you have all the essentials with you. This means all sorts of documents you might need for your flight and stay there. Your passport and the booking information should be on top of your list as you won’t be able to repurchase them if you leave them behind. Also, add your ID, driver’s license (you never know if you’ll have a road trip), wallet, and mobile charger. Once you pack this, you can move on to other things.

Wardrobe

As far as clothes go, this depends on your destination. For example, if you plan a European cities tour, check the forecast and pack your clothes accordingly. However, since it’s summer and most of us plan a gaycation somewhere by the water, you should bring your swimwear and light clothes as you probably chose quite a hot destination. It’s always good to have good men’s jeans and a sweater or a hoodie around in case the nights get a bit chilly. Mother Nature can be a bit of a bitch so you never know what to expect – better safe than sorry!

Footwear

You have no idea how much your vacation might suck if you opt for uncomfortable shoes. That’s why you should always take with you the most comfortable pair that you own –preferably sneakers that you have no problem walking long distances in. Of course, bring your flip-flops for the beach or the pool, and you can also bring a pair of fashionable shoes that you will wear during your nights out.

For the carry-on luggage

We always have that dilemma what to pack in our suitcase and what to take with us on the plane. It often happens that the airport loses our baggage, and we definitely don’t want to go on the beach knowing that our swimwear is still in our suitcase at an airport – that is why it’s always best to have an extra pair of swimwear and a T-shirt in our carry on. Also, don’t forget the items that will make your flight more interesting provided there’s no cute guys on the plane you can flirt with – music, movies, and a e-reader or a book (if you’re a book lover) can really help you pass the time.

Less is more

When you take the clothes you’ll be packing out of your wardrobe, know that you won’t be wearing half of them, so pack sparingly. You probably won’t need your golden shoes to match your golden shirt – if you choose white sneakers they will match practically everything perfectly. It’s always best to plan your outfits in advance according to the latest fashion, at least those for the nights out. This way, you will save a lot of space as you won’t pack unnecessary clothes you will never have the chance to wear. And most importantly, the space that you save can come in handy if you choose to go shopping for new clothes or souvenirs for your girlfriends.

Gay 101

But, what makes a gaycation a gaycation? If you really want to label your holiday as such, then you definitely need to take with you all the gay essentials – jock straps, sexy underwear, condoms, lubricants, see-through tees, and don’t forget the flamingo floaty! Make this gaycation count, and it’s always to go there prepared!

Ta-da! It’s not too difficult, is it? Even though it might sound like a nuisance, packing for any holiday can be really fun, especially because you get to plan what you’ll be doing there. Well, hopefully you have everything checked, and there’s another thing we should tell you: have fun gay-style!
