The 47th annual Southern Decadence is a big, fabulous, hurricane mess that is about to hit The Big Easy. If you’ve never been, it’s become a certain gay rite of passage to attend at least one Decadence in your life. The funnest, largest, queerest weekend in one of the most beautiful cities in America: what could possibly go wrong? What began as an over-the-top, extravagant party and theme amongst friends has blossomed over nearly 50 years into the Crescent City’ second biggest festival after Mardi Gras. DJs Kidd Mahoney, Max Rodriguez, Derek Taylor, and Dolla Bill with local DJs Chris Allen and Brendan Thompson will be keeping everyone dancing at the official Southern Decadence parties throughout the weekend. The official hosts for the weekend will be grand marshal Aubrey Synclaire and Sarina Styles. The entire French Quarter becomes one big wild street party. Deborah Cox, Jennifer Holiday, and Jeanie Tracy are all set to perform at this year’s Southern Decadence.
