Stick to your New Year resolution this month by pretending prohibition is still around. It’s Dry January: keep off the excess winter weight by prohibiting yourself from indulging in alcohol for 30 days. A little detox from alcohol helps improve your skin, improves your sleep, and gives your liver some time off to recuperate! The Resolution Mocktail is a non-alcoholic alternative that you can abide in without that extra caloric intake. 

No drinking doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun: It’s good to be able to still know what it feels like to go out sober. Don’t worry. You don’t have to feel left out at the bar when you go out with friends while everyone else is drinking. The Resolution Mocktail will have people thinking you’re drinking a real drink, while really, you’re just doing what you can to improve your health. 

Kick the liquor from New Year’s Day until February 1 and make the Resolution Mocktail your cocktail of choice during this self-imposed drinking drought. 

What you’ll need:

  • 2 oz fresh pink grapefruit juice
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 oz agave syrup
  • Club soda
  • Fresh mint leaves

Muddle agave syrup and a couple of fresh mint leaves into the bottom of a shaker. Add citrus juices and stir. Pour into a cocktail glass filled with fresh ice. Top with club soda. Garnish with a fresh mint sprig.
