Hot buttered rum

When things get too cold this winter, warm up with a mug of Hot Buttered Rum.

“Yo heave ho! And a bottle of Rum!” Winter time can leave you left in the cold, but a good way to get over the freezing temperatures is to imagine yourself far away from the frosty weather. Picture yourself on some Caribbean island, sipping on a cold rum cocktail, laying on the beach and baking in the warm sun.

While not everyone can get away for a tropical gaycation, anybody can give them selves a taste of that sweet, warm island life with some Hot Buttered Rum. With one sip, you’ll be whisked away to some palm studded isle where half naked hotties dripping in sweat fan you with ostrich feathers and tease you with cabana quickies. 

With a mug of Hot Buttered Rum, you’ll feel like a pirate who took over his own gay spot of land in the middle of the ocean. When you wanna have an immediate get away from the cold winter temperatures without leaving your home, warm yourself with some Hot Buttered Rum for a taste of the sweet life. 

What you’ll need:

  • 1 c softened butter
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 c softened vanilla ice cream
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup rum

In a medium mixing bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the ice cream and cinnamon. Place into container and freeze solid.

In a large saucepan, apple heat cider until boiling, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and pour into a pitcher. Place 2 tbsp of buttered rum batter into each mug. Fill 1/3 of the cup with rum, then top with hot apple cider. Stir and serve.
