Gays don’t need influencers, we are our own influencers. There’s no need that anyone tells us what to wear, what to buy or where to go. If we want this to stay that way, we really do need to do a bit of research as what is fashionable at the moment and what are the most important unexplored destinations that we should go to. You might have made certain new year resolutions about going to the gym, eating healthy and such, but what about those that are connected to travelling? After all, this is where we will take the best Instagram pics and get tons of likes. That being said, these are the travel resolutions you should make in 2019:

The grass is not always greener on the other side

There is a saying, but contrary to popular belief – the grass is sometimes greener on your side and you simply need to look a bit more closely. It seems that we’re always looking for more exotic destinations, trying to get as far from home as possible, but some of the most beautiful gems are hidden just a couple of hours from you. This is the first resolution that you should make in 2019, to explore your own country a bit more. Why is this also good? Because you don’t need to take time off your work – you might choose to visit a couple of destinations by opting for small weekend getaways without leaving your own country.

Be an influencer

Let’s go back to the beginning of this article – remember when we said that we are our own influencers? So, in order to influence someone, we always need to keep an eye open for new tourist destinations that are both very exotic and culturally very interesting. One such destination that’s still not quite a popular tourist destination is Indochina, for example Vietnam. This could be a great experience, especially if you find out how to travel Vietnam by motorbike, which is definitely something you should do in 2019. There are many Vietnam motorbike trips and routes that you should opt for, and not only will you be witnessing some of the most beautiful examples of how nature is magnificent, you will also be learning something more about its culture and its people, which is always a great idea.

Family comes first

Try to think when was the last time you went somewhere with your own family. If you can’t remember when it was, then it’s time to change that in 2019. For this occasion, you don’t have to travel long distances, as visiting a nearby country or simply choosing to go on a road trip in your own country with the most important members of your family is an excellent idea. Not only will you be experiencing and seeing something new, but it’s always a great way to bond.

Do you speak the language?

One of the best ways to learn something more about the culture and experience a certain place on a whole new level is to learn a bit of their language. Of course, nobody’s expecting from you to become a proficient speaker, but you might learn a couple of phrases that will make your stay there much more interesting and more efficient. Learn how to say the simple things such as “hello”, “goodbye”, “thank you”, and if you have some extra time on your hands, you can also learn to ask a couple of questions. The locals will cherish this very much.

Vlog it

Last, but certainly not the least, is to vlog your 2019 trips. Yes, we all take photographs and they will serve as amazing memories one day, but there’s nothing that you will cherish more in 10 years than a good vlog from a good holiday. The #TenYears Challenge will be even more interesting in 2029 if you opt for this step. This is why you should bring your camera, and learn how to edit your videos in order to make them more aesthetically pleasing. Making a short video of your travel experience is much more effective than showing people your photos.

Of course, the most important travel resolution is to know where you’re going. But make sure that you choose something that’s interesting and unique, and save those weekend getaways for your own country. Let 2019 be different travel-wise!
