With mere days left before the premiere launch of brand-new gay ski weekend Peak Pride Sun Peaks, it’s time to start getting pumped about what is soon to become a weekend to remember. The weather might be cold and wintery, but the entertainment line-up that Peak Pride at Sun Peaks is fiery hot. Friday night is comedy night as Sun Peaks hosts a series of comics in a side-splitting show. Australian-Macedonian-turned-Canadian veterinary technician /comic Velina Taskov is a newcomer and one of three comics that will have you howling with her real life and riotous tales. Andrew Crone is known for his cutting wit around Western Canada, having toured alongside some of the biggest touring acts in the country. Matt Baker, originally from Ontario, is a local comedian who has opened for some of the largest comedic acts in Canada.
Saturday at The Tops Pre-Parade party, there will be a featured set by well-known local DJ Trix. With his selection of old school bops combined with mixes from today’s club hits, DJ Trix has 20 years as a DJ in and around Whistler, while currently calling Sun Peaks his residency. Grab a lift pass and head to The Tops Pre-Party before the parade.
Also on Saturday at The Bottoms Après, there will be another featured DJ set by DJ D Funk. Great guest performances by both well-known drag queens Sparkle and Ella Lamoureux will be part one of the dazzling entertainment-packed ski weekend at Peak Pride Sun Peaks.
One of the best parts about a gay ski week or weekend is the parties, Part two of the dazzling entertainment will be an encore performance by Ella Lamoureux and Sparkle at the wipeOUT Party at Masa’s Bar and Grill. Well known for his mixes of some of the biggest artists in music, revelers will dance the night away spun by DJ Dopamine. The wipeOUT Party is sure to be a dancing blast of an event because of these great entertainers.
If you have never been to Sun Peaks, you are in for the most amazing treat! The resort is located in the heart of the interior of British Columbia.
