LA Pride celebrates at Universal Studios Hollywood with a queer night of thrills

Los Angeles is referred to as the entertainment capital of the world. It is also home to one of the largest pride festivals in the United States and Universal Studios. This helps to solidify its nickname and image for the city of angels. Now in its third year, Universal Studios Hollywood is joining forces with Christopher Street West to kick-off of Pride week with a bang with another Pride Is Universal LGBTQ+ night.

LA Pride 2018: One for the record books!

A theme park after-hours like you’ve never seen, Universal Studios Hollywood is going rainbow for the third annual Pride is Universal on Saturday, June 1, 2019. It will be an exclusive, inclusive experience at the center and entertainment heat of Los Angeles. Think Out on the Mountain at Six Flags—but bigger, gayer, better, and with cocktails!

From 4:00pm – 2:00am, Pride Is Universal ticket holders will have entry, and after 9 pm full theme park access throughout the evening until close, with DJ, clubs, dancing, cash bars, selfies with characters, prizes, rides and thrills. This once a year experience is a great way to begin Pride week and Pride month. 

LA Pride 2018: One for the record books!

Partial proceeds for Pride is Universal go to Christopher Street West, the producers of the LA Pride Festival and LA Pride Parade. Throughout the year, CSW engages in philanthropic work in the LGBT community, and Pride Is Universal is a big fundraiser for these initiatives. Part of the funds will be allocated towards the LA Pride 50th anniversary celebration in 2020.

LA Pride 2018: One for the record books!

Beneficiaries of the charitable work and support by Christopher Street West include Casa del Sol, which helps those with HIV/AIDS afford housing, PLATform, an advocacy group for transgender rights, and the Glass Endow Scholarship at USC, a grant program for students researching LGBTQ+ contributions to society today.
