Oh em gee! The gays are gagging over the news that legendary queer rights advocate, music idol, and gay icon, Cyndi Lauper, will be the headliner at We Party Pride Festival 2019.
Gays just wanna have fun and miss Cyndi Lauper is sure to bring it with a fierce performance. The musical writer of the Broadway smash hit “Kinky Boots”, LGBT rights warrior, and songwriter of classics like “True Colors,” “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” “She Bop,” “Time After Time,” and “The Goonies ‘r’ Good Enough” will debut an extraordinary performance to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising.
“I’m really excited about doing this special set for LIFEbeat at the We Party WorldPride event! Let’s have some fun and rip the roof off the Javits center together!” the 80’s pop icon said.
On June 29 the main event of We Party Pride Festival, produced by Out Magazine’s “most influential person of the year” award winner Jake Resnicow, will be the largest LGBT charity event in history. We Party Pride Festival 2019 will be take place at the Jacob Javitz Center in Midtown, Manhattan, a mammoth 1,800,000 square feet, covering the entire city blocks between 34th and 40th Streets, 11th and 12th Avenues.
The event will kick-off with an opening dance act by Beyonce’s choreographer Chris Grant and a very special percussion, movement and visual performance by the theatrical phenomenon STOMP. Electric Daisy Carnival and Coachella-famous lighting designer Steve Lieberman will be doing the lighting, while sound will be done by Jason Ojeda. Proceeds from the night will go to groups like Stonewall Gives Back Initiative and LIFEBeat, among multiple organizations that help advance the lives of queer people.
