With beautiful sandy beaches, sun glinting off Lake Okanagan, award-winning wines, and hot, jacked guys everywhere, it’s obvious why Kelowna is one of the hottest vacation destinations. Kelowna is home to the largest Pride celebration in the interior of British Columbia, and this year, Queer As Funk will be headlining.

A rising star in the LGBT music community, Queer As Funk is a Vancouver-based soul / Motown / funk band. From classics to contemporary, the explosive, high-energy dance band pays homage to the artists who inspire them. The eight-member LGBT cover band has performed across Canada and in the United States. They pride themselves on giving back, often donating proceeds from their events to LGBT charities and causes.

Queer As Funk will be performing on the main stage at the Kelowna Pride Festival on Saturday, June 22 at Kelowna City Park. The festival, which will run from 11:00am – 4:00pm, includes LGBT supportive vendors, charities, and community organizations. There will be plenty of activities throughout the day.

Kelowna and the entire Okanagan Valley is gearing up to host Kelowna Pride 2019. Celebrating community, love, equality, and inclusivity, Kelowna Pride is traditionally held in the late August. This year, organizers have been working harder than ever and this year have moved the week-long event earlier to take advantage of the fantastic weather, sunny skies, and abundance of vacationers. Kelowna Pride will be held June 15 – 22, with a line-up of events, performers, and entertainment. For tickets, event line-up, and more information, visit KelownaPride.com
