Vancouver Pride announces 2019 event line-up

Vancouver Pride has a series of fabulous events lined up for Pride.

The largest Pride event in British Columbia, Vancouver Pride takes place August 2 – 5, 2019. Vancouver Pride has a full line-up of fun events, including a little something for everyone before, during, and leading up to Pride weekend. Start making plans now. Get your outfits ready. Here is the full line-off of official Vancouver Pride 2019 events: 

Vancouver Pride

The East Side Pride will be June 22, 2019, from 11am – 6pm at Grandview Park. There will be a community market with more than 30 vendors and a free east side Pride festival. Come eat and set a picnic blanket down.

The Glitter is Forever Party is June 28 from 9pm-12 am. This is a queer dance party and celebration of the 50 years of LGBT rights. Thrown by the Queer Arts Festival, Vancouver Pride Society, The Frank Theatre Company, and Zee Zee Theatre.

The Picnic in the Park is always a fun pre-pride event. A picnic hosted by Vancouver Front Runners after the Pride Run and Walk, this is a family event at Second Beach. Join friends and make new ones at this historical gathering.

 The Pride Premiere Party is a 7-hour, 360 degree circling party at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Held July 26, there will be two stages, a silent disco, and a 500-person beer garden. It’s the best way to premiere Pride.

The North Shore needs some Pride love too, so Pride at the Pier in North Vancouver will be at Shipbuilder’s Square. This all ages and free event is July 30 from 5-9pm. Local LGBT DJs, food trucks, and ample things to drink on the water. 

On the eve of Pride, what about getting back to nature with the Pride Night at the Aquarium. August 1 from 7 – 11 pm, the Vancouver Aquarium is hosting a fab Pride night. With animal sex talks, drag shows, bars, and a dance floor, Pride Night at the Aquarium is not to be missed.

Terry Wallace was a Vancouver resident and LGBT rights advocate. The annual by-donation buffet pancake breakfast at Jim Deva Plaza is named after this queer warrior: The Terry Wallace Memorial Breakfast. Held on August 3, enjoy a pancake breakie to commemorate this hero of the community.

The Davie Pride Promenade will be from August 2-4 from Friday – 5-11pm – Saturday – 10am-10pm – Sunday – 10am-11pm. This is a gathering place for Vancouverites and visitors to celebrate the queer community. This will be a pedestrian promenade on Davie Street with vendors, street art, and more!

The Sunset Beach Festival is August 4 at Sunset Beach. Dance it up under the summer sun after the parade at the beer garden. Or check out some music at the Main Stage. There will be a family fun zone, interactive art, and food trucks.

The pinnacle event of the weekend is the Vancouver Pride Parade on August 4 from 12-3pm. Queer rights and expression are on full display through Vancouver’s west end. Grab a seat to see some of the best floats and greatest signs you’ll see. Perfect for the ‘Gram!
