Folsom is wild…but in a great way. There’s really no other event in the world like it (Ok, there’s the smaller Folsom Europe in Berlin). A welcoming weekend hosted by San Francisco and fetish enthusiasts from all walks of life, Folsom Street Fair has evolved into so much more than a Sunday Funday street festival for gay people.
Folsom weekend really kicks off and started on Thursday night. But there are many events throughout the weekend, some targeted to specific groups including fist-fucker parties, poz-friendly events, circuit parties, rubber/latex gatherings, and leather-kink nights. Circuit parties continue to be a prime weekend, outside of the Sunday afternoon street fair, drawing many people to San Francisco for a sexy, fetish friendly weekend.
Friday and Saturday daytime activities were popular with weekend visitors, including stops at popular sites like Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge, Pier 39, Madame Tussauds, the Painted Ladies, the iconic cable cars, and the Fisherman’s Wharf.
San Francisco is still internationally known as a place that is woke and welcoming AF, and many SF locals hosted pre-game open houses, an annual tradition to gather with groups of friends before heading off to street festival. Local leather, kink, and gay clothing stores were busy throughout the weekend, welcoming the scores of tourists, making it their biggest weekend of the year.
Sunday was the big day, where tens of thousands of people attended Folsom Street Fair. Although technically free, there is always a suggested $10 donation to enter the event, which helps produce the event every year and benefits local LGBT charities. This year, they continued the lovely tradition of giving you a sticker for a discount on beer and cocktails for the entire afternoon.
Folsom Street Fair is a fetish and kink eye candy overload. Attendees were wearing every outfit and costume imaginable, including jockstraps, leather harnesses, chaps, masks, hoods, kilts, catsuits, rubber/latex gear, puppy gear, or being completely naked.
There were rope tying demonstrations, public flogging, puppy play areas. Attendees could be seen playing together, including public jerking off, oral sex, piss-play, and more.
While some people do consume drugs, the majority of people who attend tend to drink during the Sunday street fair event. Folsom Street Fair has booths of beer and cocktail bars located on every block. There were multiple stages with DJ’s laying down great beats, creating large dance areas. Overall, it is one of the most friendly, welcoming atmospheres and festivals.
Make your plans to attend Folsom Street Fair 2020!
