There are few and far between places that are untouched and undiscovered by the modern-day traveller. The road-less-traveled destinations. Wales provides an epic, beautiful countryside travel experience, marked with a plethora of exciting activities and action-packed adventure for your next gaycation. Discover some not-so-ordinary exciting things in Wales including these extra-ordinary activities:

Underground Bounce—Honey, this is a five story, underground slate mine from the Victorian-era that has been converted into a giant underground playground with the largest bouncing nets in the world, psychedelic, multi-colored lights, stainless steel slides, rope ladders, and a zip-line!

Coasteering – a unique-to-south-west-Wales experience, Coasteering was a vision of local surfers who wanted to give visitors to the area a chance to explore the sea. The aquatic nature trail adventure is lead by professional guides to safely explore the sea, including jumping off rocks, playing in the white-wash, exploring caves, and swimming. Lifejackets, wetsuits, clothing, shoes, and helmets are all provided. If you can doggy-paddle, then you can definitely enjoy this adrenaline adventure. It’s an amazing, must-do experience in Wales.

Zip World Titan – Located in the Snowdonia National Park, there are three and five zip-line experiences over the retired slate mines, jagged quarries, and old mine workings in northern Wales, providing an exhilarating experience and mountain vistas like no other.

Walk along the Conwy Castle and walled town –It’s not just a little hike to get your booty in shape. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with over a mile-long of almost fully intact walls. As you walk along the walls there are breathtaking views of the medieval Conwy Castle and the estuary.

Located on the hills above the Dwryryd estuary ists the oddest, campest villages, constructed over 50 years by a team of artistans. Portmeirion Village is more than just a quirky, colourful resort village with its own sub-tropical gardens. There are spectacular sandy beaches, ancient castle ruins, and a mystical woodland waiting to be explored.

Take in seaside adventures at New Quay, with its massive breakwater, dolphin watching, boat tours, fishing, suntanning, and building giant sandcastles. Of course a day at the beach wouldn’t be complete without the famous Welsh honey ice cream, available at many of the boutique shops in the village.

Head to Cardiff, the capital city of Cymru, for retail therapy. The pedestrian city center has everything from today’s popular retail stores, the massive Cardiff market, and Victoria-era shopping centers, called arcades. You can find everything from designer jeans and collector memorabilia, to souvenirs and scarves.

The key to adventure travel is to get out, explore, and have fun. Take plenty of selfies to remember and share your experiences. Wales truly is one of the most beautiful, picturesque countries to explore and enjoy its splendor. Start planning your trip today with Visit Wales.
