Known for thrilling audiences the world over, Cirque du Soleil has consistently redefined live entertainment, circus performances, and performance art. Now, it’s 17th production is concluding its North American tour with an extended run in Vancouver, Canada. Luzia, their newest under-the-big-top tour production tour, is Cirque du Soleil at its very best.

If you’ve never been under the big top, honey, you haven’t ever lived yet. These aren’t the days of elephants on tight walks, no ma’am. Cirque du Soleil offers a mind-bending, audience-thrilling wonderland of visual storytelling, and Luzia, its latest incarnation, is absolutely extraordinary.

Luzia: A Waking Dream of Mexico takes audiences through a dream-like tour of Mexico where luz (Spanish for light) and lluvia (Spanish for rain) fill the spirit and quenches the soul with soothing energy. Luzia combines contemporary circus performances with traditional circus disciplines. Rain plays a key feature, as wheel artists, trapeze acts, hoop diving and aerialists all flitter and float through pouring showers.

You’ll see awe-inspiring acts like aerial artists doing death-defying performances, defying gravity at the center of a Mexican sinkhole. Two soccer players doing mind-blowing tricks and street dancing with soccer balls. Contortionists twisting their bodies into outrageous positions, and a beautiful odd to the land of red. White, and green. Mexico, a “sumptuous world suspended somewhere between dreams and reality,” is truly is one of the stars of Luzia.

Now is no better chance than ever to see one of the greatest performance troops in the world. The last performances are now scheduled now through December 15, 2019 under the white-and-gold Big Top at Concord Pacific Place in Vancouver.
