Winter is here, and Jack Frost won’t stop nipping at your nose, feet, hands, throat, and chest. If you’re lucky and the flu shot effective, you can potentially escape the winter season without catching the seasonal sickness. Not everyone, however, is as fortunate. Sometimes, the plague just hits you, and hits you hard.
Like most, you don’t have time to deal with a head cold that comes during the colder months, like January. But not just anyone can buck up, push on, go to work, and live life like your head isn’t about to explode.
Battle your holiday head cold with some winter cold home remedies. Turn up the heat with a fun home flu remedy—and it’s alcoholic! A nice hot buttered rum cocktail can help turn your winter cold frown upside down in no time at all. If it doesn’t get rid of your sickness, you’ll ate least be too bombed to care!

2 oz dark rum
1 tsp soft butter
1 tsp brown sugar
2 drops vanilla extract
dash of each cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and allspice
Muddle butter, sugar, and spices at the bottom of an Irish coffee glass. Pour in rum and hot water. Stir. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
