It is almost Valentine’s Day. This is a day that can be painful for gay guys as they get older, but then again, it is our job to embrace all the events that we have in store for us and look dapper and cool. Valentine’s Day, love is in the air, yadda yadda yadda. What does this mean for you? You are probably either in the camp of people who hate Valentine’s Day and want to spend it alone at home, or in the camp of people who will be getting ready to have the biggest date of the year. Whatever the case with you is, it is your job to look fashionable on this night – either to impress your date or to just be fabulous and single on this night. Take a look at these ideas for a fabulous Valentine’s Day outfit.

Iron it out

There is so much you can do about your Valentine’s Day outfit, and so many different styles, trends and combinations to choose from. However, the most important thing to worry about is going to your date wrinkle-free. Wrinkles are indeed quite an ugly thing to see, especially if they find themselves on the outfit of an otherwise fashionable guy. The terror – having a guy who knows how to pick the clothes but yet doesn’t know how to iron them. This will take you only 15 to 20 minutes of your time and it can definitely make or break your night. Apart from that, ironing has other benefits such as making your clothes look more fresh.

The accessories matter

Next up, it is very important to find the right accessories. There are people who choose the accessories depending on the outfit that they are going to wear, but there are also people who are doing it the other way around. This is important in cases when you want to wear a signature accessory that will require a minimalistic item. For example, if you want to come out as quite sophisticated, elegant and yet very fashionable, you can choose one of the many great automatic watches, and in order to emphasize it, go with a shirt that is monochromatic (for example white or light blue). If you want to rock a street style, you can go with different rings or wristbands.

The sporty type

You will definitely not be going on your date dressed like you’re going on a gym session, but then again, try mixing it up if you’re a sporty guy. Sporty guys  are so trendy right now, and you can make everyone see that you can give the best of both worlds, but the use of the popular trend called athleisure. This is the trend that embraces sporty clothes and creates completely new and amazing looks by pairing them up with something formal. For example, you can go with jeans or pants and a blazer while wearing quite fashionable sporty sneakers, or you can combine a hoodie with a blazer or a shirt. The choices are endless, but you have to pull everything off with pride.

A classy gentleman

If you’re an old soul and you think of a Valentine’s Day as a date when you will take a date to a fancy dinner, then you will definitely have to act like it, and prepare the most dapper look that you have. However, a quick disclaimer here – if your date is not into suits or he doesn’t own plenty of formal clothes, beware not to overdress. But, on the other hand, if the date you’re into is also very similar to you, then you know the drill. Take a suit that is well-fitted and that will accentuate all the right features and go get that guy’s heart! Of course, do not opt for a blazer and a tie or a bowtie as it is not a wedding, but rather an upscale dinner. Formal pants, a shirt and nice shoes will do the trick.

The final touches

Unless you want to be sporty or classy, you can always rock the style you like. Go with jeans, a a nice t-shirt, because after all, you should be who you are. But do not forget about the final touches. Mind your hair (get a haircut), put on the best cologne that you have, take a shower. These small things are the important ones, these are the things that will help you get the guy.

Of course, if you do not want to go on a date for Valentine’s Day but you want to spend it with your friends, why not be fashionable even then? The final option is to stay at home, Netflix and chill. It is up to you, but regardless of the choice you make, have an amazing Valentine’s Day!
