Grab your ski/snowboard gear, Pride flags, gloves and goggles. In two weeks, the second annual Peak Pride Sun Peaks gets underway. Peak Pride is Canada’s freshest and fastest expanding winter Pride series, and you need to be there for an exciting adventure in the Canadain mountains. Peak Pride Sun Peaks is February 26 – March 1, 2020, and there is an incredible line-up of events.

Peak Pride is making tracks at outstanding ski resorts throughout the southern interior of British Columbia. For the last four years the gay ski weekend series has been bringing queer events, focused on regional talent, community engagement, social activities, and Pride celebrations. For the second year, Peak Pride returns to Sun Peaks Resort, located near Kamloops, British Columbia, in the Thompson Okanagan region.

Here is a look at the line-up of events:
Wednesday, February 26
Film night: Alone in the Game uncovers the struggles of what it’s like to be a professional, collegiate, and Olympic athlete and simultaneously be a member of the LGBT2Q+ community.
Thursday, February 27
Qusic: a new LGBT artist showcase at Morrissey’s Public house with a free open mic night immediately following.

Friday, February 28
Après ski: After a day of skiing and snowboarding on the three incredible mountains at Sun Peaks, join the gang at Bottoms Bar in the heart of the village for après ski.
Comedy Night: Morrissey’s will host an evening of local comedic talent that will have everyone laughing with on-point humor, jokes, and observations.

Saturday, February 29
Pre-Parade Party: Sunburst Bar + Eatery, located at the top of the Sunburst bubble chairlift, is the pre-parade gathering point. Arrive early to grab lunch, a cocktail, Pride flags, and Peak Pride merchandise.

Pride Parade: Meet at Sunburst Bar + Eatery and join the entire Peak Pride ski and snowboarders as they depart down the mountain at 2:00pm with Pride flags and colorful costumes. Meet in the village for a group photo afterwards.

Apres Ski Party: Starting at 3:30pm, following the parade, the Upper Plaza Stage will be lit with music.

wipeOUT Party: The main event of Peak Pride, this is your opportunity to come dressed in your best – harnesses, drag, leather, jeans and t-shirts, clack-fans, and glitter are encouraged! Get ready to dance from 9:00pm – 1:00am at Masa’s Bar an Grill. There will be a big dance area, drag performances, a free photo booth, cocktails, and a beat-dropping DJ.
