What is the spring equinox? It’s the time of the year that people in the northern hemisphere look forward to the most. It’s the legitimate coming of spring. From the moment, the sun creeps north across the central equator, days start to lengthen, and flowers begin to bud. The dark night is slowly pushed back, and we can all step outside for a little bit longer.

There’s no better way to celebrate the dawn of a new season than with a brand new cocktail that embodies everything we love about spring. This Honey Rose Margarita cocktail is a sensational blend of honey, lemons, oranges, and roses. All of these wonderful notes are perfectly combined with a white tequila. You may think that’s a mistake at first, but what spirit is better to pick you up out of the winter blues than a simple tequila?

Sip this joyous wonder slowly and ponder on the change of the seasons. Think back on the winter and slowly let go of the SADs and embrace the sunshine. It’s not traditional for admiring the cherry blossoms, but who cares about being traditional?

  • 1 oz orange liqueur
  • 2 oz 2 oz blanco tequila
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • ½ oz honey syrup
  • 2 dashes rose water

Add all ingredients to shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with rose petals.
