Tequila has a long and storied history, dating as far back as the 14th century, and its prominence has increased exponentially over the years, with more than 100 distilleries in Mexico making over 900 different types of premium options. Made from a specific region of Mexico – Jalisco to be exact – and from the blue agave plant, tequila began as a traditional drink throughout the country and has spread worldwide. 

In the 21st century, tequila continues to gain favor internationally, and there are a myriad of different recipes available for you to enjoy this amazing spirit! This is a drink that can be made in only a few minutes and its sweet, fruity taste packs a powerful punch that your comrades will love! 

  • 1.5 ounces of blanco tequila 
  • 1 ounces simple syrup 
  • 1 piece, thinly sliced lemongrass 
  • 4 ounces pineapple juice 
  • Sparkling water 

In a highball glass, muddle together simple syrup, lemongrass, and mint. Fill glass with ice, then add tequila, pineapple juice and fill the rest of the glass with sparkling water. For the garnish, use a slice of pineapple and lime wheel.
