Like its cousin, the whiskey fizz, the gin fizz is a classic mixed drink with the only difference being their base spirits. As the name suggests, the gin fizz uses gin as the base spirit.
This cocktail is easy to mix and refreshing and can take on whatever personality you give through different customizations.
Taste the light, sour citrus flavor that makes the gin fizz stand out against the soda’s sparkle.
Did you know the gin fizz also has an egg? Any authentic gin fizz should include it to give it that fizz and provide the frothy top that makes the drink appealing to both your eyes and taste buds. (For the perfect cream and foam on top, shake the ingredients till you can shake no more.)
As the Labour Day Long Weekend rolls on, you have much to celebrate. Southern Decadence in New Orleans may be canceled this year, but you can still celebrate from home.
Celebrate with this cocktail, or a Hurricane, Brandy Milk Punch, Cajun Lemonade, or a Sazerac, dress up like a southern belle and post your pics, tagging @visitneworleans, #HomoCultureTour and #SouthernDecadence.
