Gay adult films come and go at a fast and furious pace, but a new release offers a new perspective in a humorous way. Written by British adult film star Kayden Gray, the provocative movie sets itself apart with its messaging to destigmatize HIV. The concept of Undetectable Equals Untransmittable (U=U) is explored here in depth, serving up sexy, sensual edutainment that has never been seen before.

Defining U=U

The phrase ‘U=U’ stands for undetectable, which equals untransmittable. When an HIV-positive person is on regular treatment that lowers the amount of virus in their body to undetectable levels, there is zero risk of passing on HIV to their partners. The low level of virus is described as undetectable viral load.

Defining TasP

TasP, or ‘Treatment as Prevention’, consists of widespread HIV testing and the immediate and full offer of HAART (highly active antiretroviral therapy) to those who test positive and are medically eligible.

Got it?

U Equals Fucking U is prepped to inform viewers in an unprecedented way that serves as a real-life testimony of TasP while simultaneously supporting the public health’s concept. When asked to describe the film, Gray insisted that “a lot of people are behind U=U in theory, but when it comes to practice, people tiptoe around the idea and aren’t comfortable when it comes down to it.”

In the film, what could be a taboo subject has been opened up and revealed in a way that goes beyond the expected and tackles the issue head on. In the scenario, Gray’s partner is HIV-negative, consents to coming off PrEP for filming, thus reinforcing the U equals U and transforming the scene into a testimony of undetectable as an HIV prevention tool. The founder of Impulse Group, Jose Ramos, notes that “having condomless sex while someone is undetectable eliminates the risk to being exposed to HIV.” And although the duo get hot and heavy on screen, it their deep pillow talk that is at the crux of the piece and a reason to watch even after you come.

Gray’s co-star of U Equals Fucking U is Bishop Black, a British artist known for featuring themes of sexuality, mythology, politics, and the occult interwoven through his avant garde performances. Television personality and contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race, Bianco Del Rio, also makes an appearance, providing comic relief all while educating viewers on the difference between HIV and AIDS, and a quick rundown on tips and etiquette to better navigate the issue.

We know you wanna know where you can get it so you can get off, so be happy that you only have a few more inches to read.
