Spring beckons. After a cold, brutal winter (heck, even Texas…Texas of all places froze over), folks can finally breathe a sigh of relief with warmer weather.

The sun moves north across the celestial equator on the Spring Equinox or solstice, bringing much-needed warmth and the start of a new season.

And boy, is the new Spring season welcome. Let’s face it: Spring 2020 was sh*t. Covid had just hit. There was fear everywhere and doomsday predictions that chilled most people to the bone. The lockdowns and quarantine didn’t help either.

A year later, and the outlook is more optimistic. More vaccines have come down the pipeline. More people are getting the shot. As you await your turn or plot the next moves if you already have, this week’s cocktail, the Lavender Lemon Drop Martini, should provide some solace.

Celebrate making it this far, despite everything, as you look forward to a fresh, and hopefully, more social (normal-ish) Spring season. Keep observing the recommended health guidelines till you get your shot.

Toast to a better 2021.

  • 1 oz Stoli Premium Vodka
  • 1 oz limoncello
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp lavender simple syrup

Shake all ingredients with ice—strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lavender sprig.
