Ready or not, the summer season is just around the corner and for those of you that failed to get your body in order during the winter months, there is still some time left to transform in time for the summer body you want. HomoCulture has some tips you can incorporate in the next few months to ensure that when you hit the beach or are chilling poolside, you can do so with pride!

Change Your Diet

To lose weight, you must take in fewer calories daily than your body burns. On average, a person burns approximately 2,000 calories a day, so the goal is to cut your intake down to about 1,500 if you want to see a difference in your size. In essence, this turns into a lifestyle choice that demands consistency, but the trick is to not be too hard on yourself. Make a realistic plan and stick to that to avoid yo-yo dieting, cheat meals, or binge eating.

Half an Hour of Daily Weightlifting

Everyone knows how effective weightlifting can be in developing and maintaining a toned, fit body. Not only does it help keep your body leaner, it also increases bone density and muscle mass. By only lifting weights for 30 minutes a day, there are a few routines you can use that can make a world of difference.

Alternating muscle groups every day gives you the opportunity to concentrate on different parts of your body every other day and by continuing a schedule like this, you will maximize your body’s potential and see results in a matter of weeks.

Drink More Water

Staying hydrated does wonders for the body and probably more than you know! Water is one of the essential elements of life, and by drinking extra water daily, you:

  • lubricate the joints
  • deliver oxygen throughout the body
  • boost skin health
  • regulate body temperature
  • flush body waste
  • cushion spinal cord, brain, and sensitive tissues

Water also assists in boosting performance as you exercise and aids in weight loss. You can also preload with water to curb overeating as it creates a sense of fullness.

Cut Fats, Sugars, and Carbs from Your Diet Immediately

This one is arguably the hardest to do when it comes to a diet, but if you can manage it, you will see dramatic results. Reducing caloric-dense carbs automatically reduces the amounts of calories you consume daily, forcing your body to burn fat stores around your midsection for energy, instead of sugars taken from carbohydrates.

Add More Fruit and Vegetables to Your Diet

You’ve always heard how beneficial fruits and vegetables are for your body and it is all true. They are both great sources of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, folate, and potassium. They are also an excellent source for fiber, which aids in digestion, prevents constipation, and other digestive issues. A diet high in fiber can reduce bowel cancer, lower blood pressure, and reduce the risks for esophageal, lunch, and stomach cancers.

A guide to healthy eating on the fly

Order That Mocktail!

There are several benefits to be had by exchanging cocktails for non-alcoholic drinks and you are more than likely aware of some of them. Aside from less hangovers, switching over to mocktails will cut your calories considerably, increase your sleep times, enhance liver function, and boost energy levels. HomoCulture has several cocktail recipes available that can easily be substituted for non-alcoholic beverages, so dive in and try one of for size!

Armed with these guidelines, HomoCulture is certain that the body you desire is just a few adjustments away. What other healthy tips have you used in the past to get that summer body? Let HomoCultureknow in the comments section below!
