Get ready to party and celebrate the 4th of July with the Rum and Ginger cocktail, one of the easiest party drinks to make. This cocktail is a clever twist on the classic Dark and Stormy cocktail.

The sun’s out; most places have opened back up with few or no restrictions. There’s that party feeling in the air to shake off pandemic blues.

With simple and refreshing ingredients and lots of ice for the hot summer afternoons, this Rum and Ginger cocktail will rejuvenate your spirits as you emerge from the dark pandemic period.

Like the independence of yore, perhaps it’s time for a different kind of liberation, from fear, hatred and pettiness. If the past year or so has taught us anything, life is way too short for those.

  • 2 oz white rum
  • 4 oz ginger ale

Fill a highball glass with ice. Add Rum. Top with ginger ale. Stir. Garnish with a lime wheel.
