The queer community is rejoicing! This September 4-6, 2021, in Hope, British Columbia, an inaugural event is set in the LGBTQ+ community as the first of its kind, a jam-packed camping weekend festival full of programming for everyone. At this inclusive space, up to 200 people will be encouraged to come, explore, and share positive energy with other like-minded people at a brand-new event, Queertopia Campout.

Produced by Vancouver Art and Leisure, Queertopia Campout has announced an inclusive program including drag performances, art installations, the iconic Backdoor event, dancing, and networking.

Outdoor lovers will be able to soak in the sun or cruise strangers on hiking trails, skinny dip in the lake or dance for hours on the dancefloor meeting new people and reconnecting with old flames. Feel free to strip down or dress up as you please.

Line-up of Events

  • Two days / 14 hours of programmed DJ music with five Canadian DJ’s and ten American DJ’s – coming from Portland, Seattle, Victoria, Vancouver, and beyond.

  • Vendors with artisan items and unique queer finds – with items ranging from jewelry to clothing.

Your health and safety is important. Queertopia Campout will be produced with adherence to the communicable disease prevention plan set out by the Province of British Columbia. Event Update

On August 13, 2021, Vancouver Art and Leisure regrettably announced the postponement of Queertopia Campout. British Columbia has experienced an unprecedented wildfire season, and due to extremely high forest fire conditions, and wildfires that have and are burning in the area, for the safety of guests and the local community, the event has been postponed until June 2022. Ticket holders can request a refund or hold their ticket until next year, now rescheduled for June 3-5, 2022, which is typically warm weather and ahead of the wildfire season on the south coast. To keep up-to-date on all event updates, please visit the Queertopia Campout event page on Facebook.
