Today is D-day! After meeting online and briefly chatting, you’ve finally mustered the courage to ask him to come over for a hookup. The very thought of this ending up in bomb sex has you frenzied.

But, no so fast.

Before he arrives, you have a list of things you need to do to make your hookup run smoothly. Preparation also helps you relax so that you can focus all your attention on the new fling.

If you’re to land a second hookup, third, or even a date or long-term relationship, the first impression matters more than you imagine.

Here are 7 essential things to do before your hookup comes over:

1. Clean, shave and moisturize

The number one rule: observe cleanliness. Being clean can help boost your confidence before meeting your new catch. It also leaves a lasting impression. Few, if any, people enjoy smashing with a foul-smelling person.

Start with the basics: Brush your teeth, shave, manscape, have a hot shower, and moisturize your body.

Douche thoroughly if you plan on bottoming.

Once all this is done, wear a kinky jockstrap or tight athletic shorts beneath your outfit. You can top it all off with sexy, alluring cologne.

2. Spruce up the bedroom

Clean up your bedroom and make it sex friendly. Nothing could be more inviting than the scent of freshly laundered sheets in the bedroom. Clean, personal spaces are known to boost sexual arousal.

You can add some scented candles to uplift the mood. Pick a candle with a refreshing scent to put you and your partner in the mood.

Also, have a sex sheet or towel in place for an easier clean-up once you are done smashing.

Creating a sexually inviting environment extends beyond the bedroom. Tidy your house too before your hookup arrives.

3. Hide your valuables

Not all hookups come over with good intentions. Some are crooks looking to get away with a few of your treasured valuables under the guise of hooking up.

As a precaution, keep your cash and other valuables hidden and out of site.

4. Create a sexy music playlist

Music has the potential to turn up the heat in the bedroom. Good music is inviting and can help set the mood. The right playlist will turn awkward and tense moments of silence into mind-blowing sexual experiences.

Create an inviting and sensual playlist for the romantic encounter. Your music should capture different moods to go along with the date, such as intensity, playfulness, passion, and romance, among others.

Songs from Frank Ocean, Lil Nas X, Jamelle Monae, Nicki, Sam Smith, or Beyonce can be a good start. You can him what kind of music he listens to and include it in the playlist.

5. Stock up on your safe sex essentials

From condoms to lube and everything else that speaks of protection, be prepared.

Stash your safe sex essentials in a nightstand within reach in the bedroom. Do not risk unprotected sex, even if you are on the pill.

If it’s your first encounter, you’re better safe than sorry.

6. Set expectations on turn-ons/offs

In as much as it’s a possibly short, casual affair, there are rules to it.

For the host, inviting someone to your space means he needs to abide by your rules to avoid any unpleasant situations. Set expectations on the do’s and don’ts when you both meet up.

For instance, let your new fling know that using phones when you are together is a huge turn-off. Perhaps you loathe unhygienic guys such that even the slightest of bad breath could mess up your lovey-dovey moment. Make that clear, however subtle it may be.

You can also let him know what turns you on. Is it his sexy smile, exotic cologne, making out, or being verbal? You know best so communicate what you want him to do.

7. Have fun!

Most importantly, have fun. What is the point of him coming over only for you not to live in the moment? Unleash your extrovert self and make the date exciting. Be touchy if he allows you to. Cuddle in the bed before and after sex.

Be the conversation starter and talk about just everything. Make frequent eye contact to help calm the nerves that come with meeting a new person. Enjoy the time you both have because who knows if you’ll ever meet again?
