As more and more companies begin to offer content for the LGBTQ+ community, Tello Films has gone even further as a network that is poised to tell stories that feature lesbian and queer women. Christmas at the Ranch is the new rom-com starring Lindsay Wagner and Amanda Righetti that is just in time for the holidays.

Christmas at the Ranch follows Haley, a woman that was raised by her grandmother following the death of her parents. Now a city dweller and power broker, she is called by her brother Charles to return to her native Nashville after years of being away to tie up loose ends and save their ranch from the bank. Upon her arrival, Haley is introduced to the ranch hand, Kate, and this is where things take a dramatic turn. Desperate to save the homestead, the two must set aside their differences and band together. During the process, they discover that love can come at you from many different directions.

Available for streaming on December 1st, the film is produced by A Baker Production and Tello Films; stars of Christmas at the Ranch include Lindsay Wagner (The Bionic Woman, The Six Million Dollar Man), Amanda Righetti (Captain America: The First Avenger, The Mentalist), Archie Kao (Chicago P.D., CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) and Laur Allen (The Young and the Restless).

An original soundtrack features soulful tunes perfect for the holiday season, with songs from artists like Dia Frampton and Dominique Provost-Chalkley. The soundtrack is currently available on iTunes and Cdbaby.

The 2021 Holiday Season Will Feature More LGBTQ+ Themed Content Across Several Networks

Christmas at the Ranch is the follow-up to last year’s critically acclaimed I Hate New Year’s, which starred Dia Frampton, Ashley Argota, and Candis Cayne, from veteran writer/producer/director Christin Baker. The talented Baker also launched the successful LGBTQ+, SVOD platform Tello films in 2009, which became the first network in history for lesbian and queer women. The move is indicative of where the entertainment industry at large is headed as more companies and networks realize the influence and potential for content that features people living under the umbrella. Single All The Wayis another upcoming LGBTQ+ movie set to release over the holiday season and comes off the heels of both Lifetime and the Hallmark Channel announcing gay and gay-friendly holiday romantic comedies, including The Christmas Setup and The Christmas House.

In addition to these stations and upcoming releases, streaming platforms like Hulu and HBO Max are also featuring more queer content, with Dan Levy in Happiest Season, a holiday makeover series, and a dating competition in which gay men search for their soul mate before Christmas.

Now that Hollywood is beginning to expand the way it represents the LGBTQ+ community, which stars are you looking forward to seeing this holiday season on the big and small screen? Which streaming services do you think do a better job at representing LGBTQ+ people? Which movies are you especially looking forward to? Let HomoCulture know in the comments section below.
