Spending time with family can be fun, but at the same time, it can be unsettling. If you dread unwanted questions about your partner or career life, then the last thing you’d wish to do this holiday is end up on a get-together with your loved ones.
It is tough surviving the holidays with your family without letting major disagreements mess your relationships. There are a few ways to hack it, though. Try establishing boundaries by agreeing not to talk through any serious no-go topics or issues that make you uncomfortable. Likewise, make a few compromises to show family that you value spending time with them.
Another way to survive the holiday with the family is by maintaining a positive vibe and avoiding anything stressful. Think of the little things or activities you have enjoyed from past Christmas get-togethers (be it family traditions, certain foods or board games) and try to incorporate them this year.
And if you have to drink, be very mindful of your alcohol consumption. Perhaps you can get your hands on a smooth cocktail as an alternative to help ease the tension – a sweet, tart drink like the Christmas Classic Martini. Best believe this cocktail will help make your family get-togethers less of a struggle.
- 2 ½ oz Stoli Premium
- ½ oz dry vermouth
Pour Stoli Gold and vermouth into a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir vigorously for 20 seconds. Strain into a martini glass garnished with a dehydrated lemon slice.
Enjoy and drink responsibly.
